Softball Recap: Green Hope Falcons vs. Apex Friendship Patriots

Green Hope had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-11 to make it four. They lost 13-0 to the Apex Friendship Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 back in March.

As for Apex Friendship, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.4 runs.

For Apex Friendship's part, Riley Weaver made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Weaver was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Apex Friendship let Sydney Joyce and Brianna Spero run wild. Joyce went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Spero went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
