Basketball Recap: 19 Straight Home Victories for Nitro

Nitro had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 60-40 margin over the Cabell Midland Knights. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Nitro found their leader in sophomore Kinley Steele, who posted nine points along with four steals and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Jones, who put up ten points.

Nitro's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Cabell Midland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Nitro will venture away from home to square off against Ripley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cabell Midland, they will square off against Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hurricane will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Cabell Midland surely won't give up without a fight.
