Softball Recap: Westlake Takes a Loss

Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to the La Plata Warriors. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for La Plata, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Westlake will head out on the road to challenge Patuxent at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for La Plata, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Charles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Charles has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.88 runs per game on average), something La Plata will no doubt try to take advantage of.
