Soccer Game Preview: Minooka vs. Lyons

The Minooka Indians will take on the Lyons Lions in a tournament on Thursday.

Minooka's tournament run continued when they took on Naperville Central on Wednesday. The Indians came up short against the Redhawks, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Minooka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Naperville Central are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Lyons kept a clean sheet against Downers Grove North on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trojans. Lyons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Zibby Michaelson and Lauren Salvino scored all three of Lyons' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Lyons and bumps their season record up to 6-1-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Minooka, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
