Softball Recap: Oswego Victorious

Oswego's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the Jamesville-DeWitt Red Rams 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buccaneer have posted against the Red Rams since May 13, 2019.

Maria Sweet was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowing only one earned run while striking out 18 over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Oswego's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Jamesville-DeWitt, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Oswego is set to challenge their familiar foe Fulton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Jamesville-DeWitt will take on rival Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
