Baseball Recap: Live Oak Acorns vs. Piedmont Hills Pirates

Live Oak proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Piedmont Hills Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Acorns have posted since May 2, 2024.

Live Oak got a great performance from Bennett Nishikawa as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Nishikawa a new career-high.
