Recap: Homestead Broncos vs. North Miami Beach Chargers

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 11 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact the Homestead Broncos proved on Monday. They walked away with a 34-22 win over North Miami Beach. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Homestead has scored all season.

Homestead can attribute much of their success to Kelis Durham, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals. Durham is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nefertari Soloman, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.

Despite the loss, North Miami Beach still got an impressive performance from Vanejia Bryant, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Bryant is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Laila Henderson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.

Homestead is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for North Miami Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Miami Beach will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Janyiah Mickens and Henderson.
