Basketball Game Preview: Grandview Wolves vs. Horizon Hawks

The Grandview Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Horizon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grandview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Castle View with points to spare, taking the game 70-53.

Grandview relied on the efforts of Noah Sevy, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks, and Breven Anderson, who went 7-for-17 en route to 22 points. Trevor Thomas was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten boards and five assists.

Grandview was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Castle View only seven assists.

Meanwhile, Horizon entered their tilt with Erie on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-50 W against the Tigers. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th in Colorado, while the Tigers are ranked 77th in Colorado), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Horizon found their leader in sophomore Noah Sokolowski, who went 9-for-11 to rack up 21 points and seven rebounds. The game was Sokolowski's 11th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Greene, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Grandview's record is now 13-11. As for Horizon, their record is now 20-3.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Grandview has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 20.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31 boards.
