Softball Recap: Republic County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Republic County). They blew past the Lyons Lions 14-8 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Buffaloes as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Republic County let Avery Stindt and Jacqalyn Parde run wild. Stindt went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Parde went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, Parde posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Frankie Snapp, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Republic County's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Lyons, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Republic County beat the Lions by a score of 13-8 later that day.
