Softball Game Preview: John Jay Patriots vs. White Plains Tigers

The John Jay Patriots will take on the White Plains Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

John Jay is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Roosevelt with a sharp 9-1 win on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Patriots with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, White Plains got themselves on the board against Lincoln on Friday, but Lincoln never followed suit. They blew past the Lancers 13-0. Considering the Tigers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kailyn Street made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Street was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Dorchak, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Noelle Quinones was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

White Plains pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for John Jay, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
