Basketball Game Preview: Ware Shoals Hornets vs. Thornwell Saints

The Ware Shoals Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Thornwell Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ware Shoals is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They were outmatched by Saluda and fell 64-30.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tyrell Cunningham, who posted 13 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Medlin, who had 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Thornwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Richard Winn Academy, falling 70-48.

Thornwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Ware Shoals, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Ware Shoals strolled past Thornwell in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 39-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ware Shoals since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
