Football Recap: Altoona Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Altoona can now relate to. They came up short against the Winneconne Wolves on Friday, falling 28-6. The Railroaders were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the six games prior), but the Wolves' defense proved too tough.

Sawyer Van Vleet threw for 109 yards and one touchdown. Everett Tryba was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and one TD.

Brody Schaffer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Winneconne, rushing for 101 yards and three scores. The Wolves also got a significant boost from Bryce Jones, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

Altoona's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Winneconne, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Altoona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winneconne, they will welcome Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wolves 6.6, the Irish 9.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
