Wink extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Layne Lusby. The Wink Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Van Horn Eagles 68-20 thanks in part to Lusby, who went 8 for 9 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Those 19 points gave him a new career-high.
Ethan Cahill was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played.
Despite the loss, Van Horn still got an impressive performance from Joey Anchondo, who posted six points.
Wink is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Van Horn, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
