Basketball Recap: Timothy Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Timothy Christian had lost five straight headed into Saturday's match, but Marc Gamble didn't let it get to six. The Timothy Christian Trojans managed a 48-44 victory over the West Chicago Wildcats on Saturday thanks in part to Gamble, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Buikema, who posted four points and three steals. Those four points gave him a new career-high.

Timothy Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for West Chicago, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timothy Christian will square off against Chicago Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Chicago, they will take on Maine East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
