Volleyball Recap: Norwich Free Academy Takes a Loss

If Norwich Free Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Killingly on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the East Lyme Vikings on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in September.

Tiyana Taylor paced Norwich Free Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Taylor got some help from Savannah Guernsey and her 14 assists. Guernsey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading East Lyme to victory were Jordyn Skinner and Jessica Feng. Skinner had 12 digs and three aces, while Feng had seven digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Feng a new career-high.

Norwich Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for East Lyme, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-1-1.

Norwich Free Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Lyme, they will square off against Woodstock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
