Maritime Academy Charter has gone a perfect 3-0 against Thomas A. Edison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Seadogs will take on the Owls at 3:15 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Maritime Academy Charter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Samuel Fels as they made off with a 22-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Seadogs, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Leilani Davila made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Davila was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games she's played.
In other batting news, Jaycie Clark was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. Ruth Adeyemi was another key player, getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Maritime Academy Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Thomas A. Edison had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Owls have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Marisol Valencia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Omalis Rivera, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Thomas A. Edison pushed their record up to 5-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Maritime Academy Charter, the win got them back to even at 6-6-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Maritime Academy Charter has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Thomas A. Edison struggles in that department as they've averaged .547. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maritime Academy Charter was able to grind out a solid victory over Thomas A. Edison when the teams last played back in March, winning 14-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seadogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
