The Hillsboro Burros will face off against the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Hillsboro's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Pearl-Cohn has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
On Monday, Hillsboro got the win against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Burros have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Cyrus Conner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Clay, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, while it was Pearl-Cohn who put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, it was Hunters Lane who put up more. The Firebirds fell 8-4 to the Warriors.
Pearl-Cohn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Antruan Hockett, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Hockett is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last six games he's played.
Hillsboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pearl-Cohn, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Pearl-Cohn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hillsboro hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Pearl-Cohn, though, as they've only averaged .233. Will they be able to contain Hillsboro's hitters?
Everything went Hillsboro's way against Pearl-Cohn in their previous matchup back in March, as Hillsboro made off with a 15-3 victory. Will the Burros repeat their success, or do the Firebirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
