Baseball Recap: Washington County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Washington County came into Wednesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Van Buren Black Knights on Wednesday.

Dylan Mattingly was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten contests.

Washington County's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Van Buren, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Looking ahead, Washington County will take on Madison Central at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Van Buren, they will face off against Trimble County at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Black Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
