Volleyball Recap: Berlin Takes a Loss

Berlin extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-11. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Columbus Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Columbus, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 13th.

Columbus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mikaela Olson led the charge by getting three digs, two blocks, and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Olson a new career-high in kills (four).

Looking ahead, Berlin will face off against Wisconsin Dells at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbus, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Markesan on the 20th.
