Baseball Recap: Herscher Wins Going Away Against Momence

With a playoff win on the line, Herscher rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Momence Momence Athletics with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gaige Brown was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Egerton, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Herscher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Momence only posted an OBP of .316.

Herscher's victory bumped their record up to 29-7. As for Momence, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Herscher didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-0 defeat against Bishop McNamara on the 24th. Momence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
