Volleyball Recap: Essex Tech Comes Up Short

Essex Tech and North Quincy/Quincy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Essex Tech had to settle for second. They came up short against the Red Raiders, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since September 10th.

Essex Tech took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-19, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Lia Tejeda and Lavinya Oliveira, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Shelby Addario and her five assists. Oliveira was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Essex Tech has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

As of now, neither they nor North Quincy/Quincy have any future games scheduled.
