Basketball Recap: Hill County Comes Up Short

Hill County and Amarillo Collegiate Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hill County had to settle for second. They were dealt a 68-40 defeat at the hands of the Amarillo Collegiate Academy Eagles. The loss leaves the Wolves without a win on the season.

Amarillo Collegiate Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Holly led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Holly a new career-high. Will Stollings was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

Hill County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Amarillo Collegiate Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-15.

Hill County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Amarillo Collegiate Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clariden at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
