Dynamic duo of Ace Zambrano and Oswaldo Lopez Vargas lead Metro Tech to victory

Recap: Metro Tech Knights vs. Trivium Prep Crimson Knights

The Metro Tech Knights's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Trivium Prep. Metro Tech's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Metro Tech was led to victory by Ace Zambrano and Oswaldo Lopez Vargas. Zambrano scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six steals, while Lopez Vargas almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that Lopez Vargas scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yahir Monroy, who scored ten points.

Metro Tech's victory bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Trivium Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metro Tech is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Trivium Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. John Paul II Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
