Volleyball Game Preview: Payson Lions vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves

The Payson Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Timpanogos Timberwolves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Payson came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Orem, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Payson took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Timpanogos posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Mountain View 3-2.

Timpanogos picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 7-8. As for Payson, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Payson couldn't quite get it done against Timpanogos when the teams last played back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
