Basketball Recap: Providence Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Providence Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 60-46 fall against the Vidalia Indians. The contest marked the Storm's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Providence Christian Academy lost, don't look at Caleb Paige. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Paige's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Matthew Talbert also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Vidalia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jerry Roundtree led the charge by putting up 12 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Rashad Brown, who posted 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Providence Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Vidalia, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Providence Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 69-36 win against Benedictine on the 6th. As for Vidalia, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Swainsboro at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. This will be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
