Basketball Recap: Oceanside Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Battery Creek last Friday, Oceanside Collegiate Academy came back down to earth. The Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins. The Landsharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orangeburg-Wilkinson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Harmoni Williams, who posted nine points and four steals. Williams has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Alexis Cleckley was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hanahan at 6:00 p.m. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they will face off against Butler at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
