Softball Recap: Mars Hill Bible Panthers vs. Lexington Tigers

Mars Hill Bible was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-4 to the Lexington Tigers.

Grace Stanfield was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Embry, who went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

On Lexington's side, they got a massive performance out of KaLyn Simko, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Adreoanna Shay Hollingsworth was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Mars Hill Bible's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Lexington, their victory bumped their record up to 21-9.

Mars Hill Bible is on the road again on Monday to play Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. The last four games Waterloo has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lexington, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win vs. Danville on the 20th.
