Volleyball Recap: Kenston Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Hathaway Brown on Monday, Kenston came back down to earth. The Bombers lost 3-0 to the Mentor Cardinals on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bombers have suffered since September 16, 2024.

Kenston took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-19, 25-23.

Avari Amstutz paced Kenston's offense, picking up eight kills. Amstutz got some help from Emily Grubich and her nine assists. Maci Amstutz controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mentor found their leader in freshman Ava Garrett, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Kenston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mentor, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Kenston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Gilmour Academy on the 28th. As for Mentor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Archbishop Hoban on the 28th.
