After losing to Van the last time they met, Mount View decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Golden Knights came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-5 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Knights.

Kyrece Hughes and Hunter Muncy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hughes pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Muncy struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. At the plate, Hughes scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Muncy went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Seth Hall was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of David Little, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Mount View's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Van, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount View will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Richwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lumberjacks have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Van, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Tug Valley at 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
