Softball Recap: North Hills Gets the Win

While North Hills's win against New Castle wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Hurricanes 9-8 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since May 13, 2024.

North Hills has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for New Castle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Hills will welcome Mars at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Castle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moniteau at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Hurricanes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
