Basketball Game Preview: Rock Springs TIGERS vs. Riverton Wolverines

The Rock Springs TIGERS are taking a road trip to square off against the Riverton Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rock Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matches.

Rock Springs took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 63-38 margin over Jackson Hole.

Meanwhile, Riverton fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Natrona County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Mustangs. While the Wolverines didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 10-6 in the first quarter.

Rock Springs will have to contain Malachi Smith as he made an impact in Riverton's last game. He dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. What's more, Smith also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2023. Eric Smith was another key player, going 6 for 13 to rack up 17 points.

Riverton has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Rock Springs, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Rock Springs couldn't quite finish off Riverton in their previous matchup last Thursday and fell 57-55. Can Rock Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
