Basketball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Comes Up Short

Trinity Lutheran suffered their biggest defeat since March 7, 2025 on Saturday. They took a blow against the Jennings County Panthers, falling 75-41. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Lutheran lost, don't look at Reed Mellencamp. Despite the final result, he shot 55% from the field on his way to 19 points. Mellencamp's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Nate Dixon was nothing short of spectacular for Jennings County: he almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. Those 24 points gave Dixon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Davis, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points and five boards.

Trinity Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Jennings County, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Trinity Lutheran has already played their next contest, a 46-41 victory against Indianapolis Lutheran on the 16th. As for Jennings County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-37 win against Bedford North Lawrence on the 17th.
