Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue East Chieftains vs. Fremont Tigers

The Bellevue East Chieftains will venture away from home to challenge the Fremont Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bellevue East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.

Bellevue East is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Bellevue West, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Bellevue East was ranked ninth). Bellevue East fell to Bellevue West 77-71. The Chieftains haven't had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Fremont ended up a good deal behind Lincoln Northeast on Saturday and lost 52-34. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellevue East's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 17-4. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Everything came up roses for Bellevue East against Fremont in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-22 victory. In that game, Bellevue East amassed a halftime lead of 31-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
