Football Recap: Varnado Takes a Loss

Varnado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Pope John Paul II Jaguars, falling 50-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 46-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Varnado's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pope John Paul II, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Varnado is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Abramson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pope John Paul II, they will take on Riverdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
