Football Game Preview: Canutillo Eagles vs. Horizon Scorpions

Canutillo has gone 6-1 against Horizon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Canutillo came up short against Hanks and fell 35-28. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canutillo's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cesar Huerta, who rushed for 127 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries, and Jarid Gamiz, who rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. The Eagles are 2-1 when Huerta posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Horizon ended up a good deal behind El Paso on Friday and lost 21-7.

Canutillo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

It's a different story for Horizon, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 221.5 total yards. Will Canutillo be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Scorpions flip the script?
