Softball Game Preview: Southaven Chargers vs. Hernando Tigers

Southaven hasn't had much luck against Hernando recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Southaven will look to defend their home field against Hernando at 6:30 p.m.

Southaven is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Saturday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Grenada.

Meanwhile, Hernando put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past Union 4-2.

Haylee Jackson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Hernando let Hayden Hodge and Callie Desmond run wild. Hodge went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Desmond scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Southaven's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hernando, their win bumped their record up to 16-0.
