Southern Wells hasn't had much luck against Mississinewa recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Raiders will face off against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Southern Wells is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Southern Wells made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wes-Del, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Raiders blew past the Warriors 23-3 on Saturday. While the Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Jakob Gearheart, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Sebastian Couch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Mississinewa fell victim to Jay County and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 14-0.

Southern Wells' victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1. As for Mississinewa, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Mississinewa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Southern Wells hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. It's a different story for Mississinewa, though, as they've only averaged .189. Will they be able to contain Southern Wells' hitters?

Southern Wells might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Mississinewa when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
