Basketball Game Preview: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Mogollon Mustangs

The Joseph City Wildcats will head out to take on the Mogollon Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Joseph City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.

Joseph City took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Seligman with points to spare, taking the game 69-54.

Joseph City can attribute much of their success to Eli James, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards, and Landon Miller, who went 9 of 21 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. James is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Jaimen Tsosie was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 16 points.

Joseph City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Mogollon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 53-49 to Williams. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joseph City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Mogollon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Joseph City strolled past Mogollon in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 78-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Joseph City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
