Softball Recap: South Fork Drops Highest Score of Season Against Forest Hill

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Fork walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Forest Hill Falcons with a sharp 19-0 win on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Not much got past Mackenzie Brown, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Forest Hill off the board. Brown has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abbie Dewaters, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Zoe Wilson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

South Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory (which was South Fork's fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Forest Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Coming up, South Fork will look to defend their home field on the 8th against McArthur at 7:00 p.m. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.85 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Forest Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
