Baseball Game Preview: Mead Panthers vs. Central Valley Bears

For the second straight game, Mead will face off against Central Valley. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mead is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Central Valley on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Bridger Maronick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Lucius Spielman was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kade Ferguson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Mead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mead's victory bumped their record up to 3-16. As for Central Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
