Soccer Game Preview: Chaminade vs. Bishop Alemany

The Chaminade Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Bishop Alemany Warriors at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Chaminade's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Chaminade fell victim to Loyola and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cubs. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 922nd, while the Cubs are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Bishop Alemany didn't have quite enough to beat Crespi on Friday and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one goal.

Chaminade's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Bishop Alemany, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3-3 record this season.

Chaminade took their win against Bishop Alemany in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chaminade since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
