Baseball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for St. Francis's offense. They came up short against the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners on Thursday, falling 15-0. The Spartans have struggled against the Roadrunners recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Nazareth Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 27-6.

St. Francis and Nazareth Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Spartans will challenge Elk Grove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (54 vs. 312). Meanwhile, Nazareth Academy (ranked 29th) will meet Saint Ignatius College Prep (ranked 276th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
