Softball Recap: Bishop Canevin Falls to Brentwood in First Game of Season

Bishop Canevin kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brentwood Spartans. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Ava Washington was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Summers, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Canevin will head out to square off against Chartiers-Houston at 4:15 p.m. on March 19th. As for Brentwood, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Carlynton at 4:00 p.m. on March 17th.
