Shenango and New Castle are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will face off against the Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shenango will be strutting in after a win while New Castle will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Shenango needed a bit of extra time to put away Freedom Area. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 5-4.

Meanwhile, New Castle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Pine-Richland.

Shenango's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for New Castle, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Shenango came out on top in a nail-biter against New Castle in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
