Baseball Recap: Ridgecroft Has No Trouble Against Albemarle School

Ridgecroft never got on the board in their matchup last Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Albemarle School on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 12-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won five in a row.

Jay Gaston was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Ridgecroft: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lucas Cutchins, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Ridgecroft's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Albemarle School, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ridgecroft is set to square off against their familiar foe Pungo Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Albemarle School will challenge rival Lawrence Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
