Basketball Game Preview: Varnado Wildcats vs. GEO Next Generation Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats face off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Varnado saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 52-27 to McGehee.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for GEO Next Generation, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 46-35 win over Port Allen on Tuesday.

GEO Next Generation found their leader in sophomore Ivoryana Powell, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Elivia Hill, who had eight points.

Varnado's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for GEO Next Generation, their victory bumped their record up to 19-10.

Varnado and GEO Next Generation were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but Varnado came up empty-handed after a 45-44 loss. Thankfully for Varnado, Quinniece Darby (who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
