Basketball Recap: Put-In-Bay Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Put-in-Bay ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 49-45 W over Harvest Temple Christian Academy. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against Harvest Temple Christian Academy back in November of 2024, they had to take a 48-42 loss.

Harvest Temple Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sam Leonetti, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 21 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Leonetti a new career-high in assists (three). Lucas Weirich was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

With the win, Put-in-Bay broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Harvest Temple Christian Academy, their record is now 9-9.

Put-in-Bay will be playing in front of their home fans against Monclova Christian Academy at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Harvest Temple Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 53-51 victory against Senedot Stripes on the 30th.
