Basketball Recap: St. Martin's Episcopal Starts off Right with Win over Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy

St. Martin's Episcopal had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 59-52 win over the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls. That's more bragging rights for the Saints, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Antonio Castro and Dimitris Galiatsos. Castro almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards, while Galiatsos dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Galiatsos is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Ethan Kihnel was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

St. Martin's Episcopal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-42 victory against L.W. Higgins on the 6th. As for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-58 defeat against Riverside Academy on the 6th.
