Baseball Recap: Dodd City Takes a Loss

Dodd City extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-4. They fell 8-4 to the Trenton Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Trenton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-10-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

For Trenton's part, Matthew Brower was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Brower has posted since back in March of 2025. Connor Sherwood was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Dodd City is set to face off against their familiar foe Collinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Trenton will challenge rival Sam Rayburn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
