Basketball Recap: Lancaster Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lancaster had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-37 victory over the Horn Jaguars. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Jaguars back in January, they had to take a 51-50 defeat.

Lancaster's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Da'Montrell Bussey, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points. Bussey continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Walker, who posted eight points.

Lancaster's record now sits at 19-11. As for Horn, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 19-11.

Lancaster and Horn should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 51st) will meet Cedar Hill (ranked 314th) at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Horn will take on Mesquite at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (99 vs. 248).
